PLAYERS OF THE WEEK!

Last week, from November 13th to 19th, 2023, the Kaetlyn Osmond Arena was bustling with activity. The Canadian Tire U9 Minor Division began the week with a practice session on Monday—special thanks to Picco, White, and McCarthy, the Player of the Week sponsors. Later, the Scotiabank U18 Female Division match between Pizza Delight and Stellar Transport took place, where Pizza Delight took the victory with a 5-1 win. The action continued with Wally Drake's U18 Minor Division, where Stellar Equipment faced off against Aylwards Home Hardware. Stellar Equipment won for the first time in four games. 

On Tuesday, Tim Horton's U7 Minor Division had their house league practice, with the Timbit Stars, Flyers, and Kings amusing everyone. Thanks to the Co-Operators Player of the Week sponsor. 

Thursday saw the weekly Pike's Building Center U15 Minor Division game, where Marybrowns and Clear Focus battled it out. Marybrowns emerged victorious with a 6-2 win, and the TD Bank players of the week were Lucas Norman of Marybrowns and Ben Fancey of Clear Focus. 

The Scotiabank U18 Female Division's final game of the week resulted in Malayla Wurz of Pizza Delight and Tamara Walsh of Stellar Transport being named the Hickman Motors Burin Players of the Week. Later, Wally Drake's U18 Minor Division played their second game of the week, with Nicholas Francis of Aylwards Home Hardware and Lucas Foote of Stellar Equipment being named the Lion's Club Players of the Week. 

Friday evening marked the beginning of an eventful weekend for MMHA Hockey players. Tim Hortons' U7 Female Division had their first practice of the week, and Canadian Tire Players of the Week were earned by Mila Slaney of Timbit Pink and Emma Whyte of Timbit Purple! U9 Female Division had their regular practice with the U7 Females, and it was great to see how much all these girls are improving as the season progresses. McDonald's U11 Minor Division had its game night, with AtoMc White and AtoMc Black battling it on the ice. Thanks to Brokerlink for sponsoring the Players of the Week, Nathan Mullet of AtoMc Black and Ben Lundrigan of AtoMc White. The Burin 1 Stop U13 Female Division also had its game night. Rebecca Evans of Rene's Autobody and Emma Fiander of Canadian Tire received the Marystown Ultramar Players of the Week awards. In the Grant Thornton U13 Minor Division, Sobeys took on Community Credit Union on the fresh ice after the girls' game. Thanks to Marystown Ultramar's player-of-the-week sponsors. 

Finally, the week concluded with the Peninsula Castle Building Supplies U15 Female Division's house league game, with Remax playing Rene's Autobody. Thanks to the Co-Operators for their continued player-of-the-week sponsorship.
