Adam Price - Mayors Mariner Spirit Award
Mayors Mariners Spirit Award

The 2022-23 hockey season officially clues up today, April 15 for Provincial Play. Marystown U18-2 hosted during the first part of the week and were able to give fans some exciting hames of hockey to watch. For the most part, we seen a lot of close games of hockey with our own Mariners coming out in 4th place. The team gave the Marystown fans something to cheer about and in the end Beothic & Southern Shore ended off the tournament.

Our Mayor, Brian Keating, and his spouse, Krista Walsh were able to take in the Marystown games and paid tribute by choosing the Annual Award in his name. The U18 "H" Provincial Championship was the second for the new award chosen by the Mayor and his spouse and was presented to #10, Adam Price. Unfortunately, the Mayor couldn't make the presentation and the award was presented by Team Manager Rod Norman.

The award was brought in by the Mayor this hockey season and will be presented to a player on the Host Mariners team in Provincial tournaments. The award is presented to a Mariner that displays hard work, ethic and exhibits sportsmanship both on and off the ice, and promotes team spirit and positive play. Adam displays all of these qualities as a third year U18 player. Adam is in his final year of Minor Hockey with MMHA and we wish him a huge congratulations in his award and the best of luck in his future endeavours.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mayor Brian Keating for his contribution and a big congratulations to Adam on being a recipient for the 2022-23 hockey season.
