Mayors Mariners Spirit Award - First Recipient Alyssa Dober

The 2022-23 Hockey Season has been one for the books so far.  We have been lucky enough to get each of our scheduled tournaments and jamborees put off without weather cancellations and now we have our first Provincial hosted tournament for this season clued up. Our U18F team took home the silver medal in the tournament and gave the fans of Marystown quite a show and nail-biter of a gold medal game.  The atmosphere in the building was fantastic as fans young and old filled the stands.

Our Mayor, Brian Keating, and his spouse, Krista Walsh were able to take in all of the Marystown games and paid tribute by presenting an Annual Award in his name.  The U18F "C" Provincial Championship was the first for the new award chosen by the Mayor and his spouse and was presented to #13, Alyssa Dober.

The award was brought in by the Mayor this hockey season and will be presented to a player on the Host Mariners team in Provincial tournaments.  The award is presented to a Mariner that displays hard work ethic and exhibits sportsmanship both on and off the ice, and promotes team spirit and positive play.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mayor Brian Keating for presenting the award and a big congratulations to Alyssa Dober on being the first recipient.  Great job.
